I have loved snakes since i was a kid running around in the woods of mississippi. I have owned a rat snake for awhile and recently bought a 6 mo old 100%het albino ball female.I would love to own more of these beautiful creatures,eventually in a few years i would like to breed her,and others i can collect along the way. I am a disabled vet,so i dont have to much extra money lying around. I got my wife on board by telling her that they would eventually pay for themselves and could even be profitable. Now should i get a visual albino male next or would a het male be fine. My goal is to eventually own a pied and bumblebee. I would appreciate any info.

i would say get the visual but you can get a 100% het male for less than a 100$ the problem with 2 hets is that the proportion of albino to possible hets is low where as if you breed a homozygous to a het at the very least you have a clutch of 100% hets and considering a male can breed to several females you could buy a couple more het females and the male for like 1500 and be producing three clutches with good amounts of albino likely and the nowms all being 100 percent het. if you dont have the money buy the het i have heard of full clutches of albinos comin from het to het breeding.....im a vet to the va is a pain in the rear go to 6 appointments get to be seen once by a doctor......

thanks for the info, and about the va...what a crock sometimes,its better than nothing, but man, having to wait months for a appointment,then end up seeing a nurse, i could go on and on...
