Would paint on bedliner work for the inside of a melamine snake cage?
Thanks
Reptile Gardens has a few plywood cages sealed with spray-on bed liner, but it was professionally done by a Rhino-Liner franchise. Very durable surface.
There are a lot of roll on liners and they vary a lot in formulation. I have heard that they all offer decent protection and many of them have been used in aquaria with no ill effects. One problem with them is that silicone does not stick which is something you need to consider if you might need to use silicone in the cage for some reason.
Another concern is adhesion to melamine, which not a lot of things adhere to. I suspect it would if you scuffed it up with sandpaper but I'm not completely sure.
Lastly, very few of the DIY liners roll on smooth -- they have a natural texture. May not be ideal for cleaning.

Currently keeping a small collection of various Gonyosoma. Both G. janseni and G. oxycephala.
Thanks. I saw a can of it at Walmart yesterday when I was picking up autobody filler to extend the life of my old melamine snake cages(good idea Chris) and wondered about the stuff.
