Temp Controlled Storage Facility

mgl Jan 22, 2008 03:09 PM

I need to sell my house and the realtor suggested that I move my snakes. I know that there are some out there but I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with mobile, self contained, temp controlled and electric enabled storage sheds. Where do I go to find the right one? Just curious to others opinions.

thanks

Simply cover the snakes with blankets or towels, or put empty containers in front of the snake cages... Make a fake wall in front of the cages and buyers will never notice.. Moving the snakes is a bit extreme in my opinion and really not needed..

Hi Matt,

In our case we had an extra bedroom that did not have a bed in it. As a result of having to board up for several storms in Florida we had plenty of wood. So we decided to build a large square box out of pylwood. When the realtor wanted to show the house we put our snakes in the box and then covered it with a mattress pad and bedding. It looked just like a bed and we sold the house. The realtor did not know about it either.

Good Luck!

I like the bed idea, very creative. I may have to do that or something like that....like you said a false wall. The sheet thing would work but my setup is too big and the numbers are too high...guess I need to reduce.

thanks guys

Hey Matt,
I think I would stay away from any type of storage facility.

If I were you, I think I'd find a herp friend that you know & trust and have them take the snakes in for a few months. Lets face it, snakes do have a certain aroma that goes along with them, and having them anywhere that you have a potential buyer walking around could be a real turnoff.

Good luck!
