I was also wondering about the net cage and the responses I got indicated that it did not retain heat which is a biggie. Some people use it and it does not cause a problem, but you'll be using much more electricity to keep the heat up in enclosure. That's not too horrible, but I would rather not have my room heat up to 90 degrees.

Right now I'm using rubbermaid bins for my babies and juveniles and they seem to be working great. Holds in heat and do their job. They're also relatively inexpensive.

thanks! i thought about that too,i actually used to keep a chameleon in there, with a 60 W bulb where the temperature on the basking spot was always between the 80-85...so perhaps with a higher voltage bulb, it would actualy retain more heat?...i never had a bearded before, so i'm kinda trying to get some info first...so i'm seeing the 2 possibilities...

Depending on the size, you'd probably have to use a 100 to 160 watt bulb. The basking site has to be 110 degrees or so with the cool end being 80 degrees-ish. And the netting doesn't really retain that much heat.

The zipper broke after 2 months, and they wouldn't take it back due to "fecal contamination" (big pet store chain we all know and "love". I ended up getting a 7 foot x 3 foot x 3 foot wood/plexiglass custom built for around $150 (about the same price I paid for the net cage). I'm much happier with this enclosure.
