snake shows on animal planet

DMD87 Jan 22, 2008 06:32 PM

they started tonight at six so far ive watched 20 minutes and cant believe what im hearing, so far a guy was bit and wrapped by a large burmese instead of unwrapping it from the tail(ive never be "attacked" by a big snake but this has always worked with the 12 foot boa i used to have when it would wrap while i was holding it) instead of that or the vinegar trick they cut the snakes head off"i pulled the top off the tank to feed it some water and it attacked my face" thats what that guy said.
he obviously was responsible......
the second was in the amazon two ppl heard a calf drowning the lady jumped into the river to save the calf the snake an anaconda tried to "eat the lady" the machete her husband had was no match for the snakes tough scales but his teeth were ....lol

the third guy went into his "16 ft long 85 lb burmese pythons cage" after cleaning his chinchillas cage. he was smart enough to get his friend to poor alcohol in and around the snakes mouth.

so far these three ppl should be pimp slapped..........
i get so happy every time reptiles are on animal planet but now im thinking anything other than jeff corwin or croc hunter reruns only do bad things for the hobby. ohh and of course they didnt point out the stupidity of what these ppl did.....

yup- its always the snakes fault...

stupid people!

just reminds me of the people that live in oklahoma- home to a dozen venomous snakes- and they ask me if my 14 ft giant pythons are 'poisonous'....

ugh-- this reptile thing would be so much more fun, if it weren't for the people....

I do educational shows as well and the #1 question I get is whether my python or boa is "poisonous". After I tell them the difference between venomous and poisonous (grin), I answer, "No."

The problem is that people are taught venomous snakes have a vertical pupil, and pythons have a vertical pupil. That's the only thing I can figure out. Oh yeah, and people are amazed that snakes do not poo out of the end of their tails like an earthworm (slapping forehead).

That show sounds like a real winner. I saw one recently called Pets Gone Wild focused on a raging circus elephant. First of all, an elephant isn't a pet. Secondly, the commentator had a psychoanalysis of the elephant explaining how the elephant was feeling, etc. It was like 30 min of Human Society propaganda! Eew.

"...the commentator had a psychoanalysis of the elephant explaining how the elephant was feeling, etc. It was like 30 min of Human Society propaganda! Eew."

Ha! Ha! Ha!

How about a double "Eew!" (And a swift kick to the TV to boot.)

We don't have any clout because they're nuttier & noisier than we are.

Later!

Animal Planet shows that show about every 3 months. If you would have kept watching you would have seen how police shot a guys 20 retic after it attaked him, they shot even though he already got the snake off him. Sad what happens to the snakes because of irresponsible keepers.

i saw that i actually watched all three hours, yea I gotta say the 20' retic loose in a bathroom........he deserves a pimp slap to.. then in the austin stevens show he got tagged by two different venomous snakes(the first one was a foot long and he tried tailing it)
