Got to go with the speckled or desert kings. I like a clean desert and I like the cream and black specks, but must admit the screamin' yellows are hard to beat!

Love the bright yellow on that bottom pic. Had a couple of those myself. I grew up catching speckleds around SW Louisiana. I've heard from someone on here that there is a population of those south of where I lived with orange speckles. Never seen one, but I hope to someday.

Good question and I think some of the other milkheads will surprise us with the diversity of their collections!
But I'm boring.
Here's a couple of craptastic pics of half a pair of locality E Conspicillata and half a pair of Sanderson alterna. There's a pair of neurotic F1 Croatian situla here also but I have no pics.
No frogs, turtles, lizards, etc...
Jeff

Wow Jeff!,....that Red Jap. is something you certainly DON'T see much of!, Also, I'd love to see a pic of your situla, I was thinking about getting a pair of those a long time ago, but it never really "materialized".
Here is a pic of what was one of my favorite cornsnakes EVER!.... I traded a snowcorn, and an anery.(het for snow) cornsnake I produced in the early 90's to a friend of mine that captured this BEAUTIFUL "Miami" phase cornsnake in Broward County, just north of Miami. I told him I was NOT leaving his house without it!..LOL!

Killer little conspic Jeff. RW
There are really too many beautiful snakes that "float my boat", but here are a couple pretty ones I owned in the past. This Mandarin Ratsnake was imported from southern China in the late eighties, I owned him from about '93 up until 2000 when I sold him.
I would REALLY love to own another Florida Indigo, like the several I had as a young kid growing up in Ft.Lauderdale.Florida!
Indigo's are in my opinion probably the MOST noble of beasts in the "snake" world!

well, another hard one but I really like pits just about as much as milks.
here is a couple of my favorite pairs.

I keep some killer greeri, knobs aletrna and etc...

really dig subocs also.

I have always kept a few aligator lizards also.here are a couple I have now.

keep a couple kunisar island rats as well.picture doesn't show but they are really aqua green/blue.

I keep a few select kings as well.
here is a purple passion king.

"What else do you keep that still wow's you, or don't keep but wish you had?"
I am actually backwards on this....meaning I currently don't keep any milks but lurk here because I love their looks and will probably keep some someday. As for what wows me....believe it or not it is Kenyan Sand Boas. I know, boring to most, but fascinating to me...I can't have enough. Here is the female that got me started with them. She has been in my collection (which is now almost exclusively KSB) since 1998.
Rob

Good question. I've always liked boas as well as milks. Right now I've only got a few boas, but they are a lot fun to work with!
Dave

Nice Emerald Dave. I've been fighting getting a pair for a long time. I know once I do the dam will fail if you know what I'm saying. Randy W.
Thanks Randy. Yes I know EXACTLY what you're saying. You should get some, I know you'd enjoy working with them. Completely different care requirements than milks but in many respects, a lot easier to maintain. Cleaning up crap once a month isn't too bad!

Beautiful ETB! Do they always change color? What causes it? [I peeked on your site
]
Pavel
Yes they always change color. They start off as a bright orange at birth and migrate towards green over the course of the first 6 months to 10 months of their life. Its a lot of fun to watch!

I keep a small group of locality Hognose, that I like.
Yellowstone river

And alterna are great to keep too. Hwy 277 TX.

I have a large group of Rubber boa, but thinking of thinning some of them out to make more room for more Lampropeltis.

I have a few other things too, but these are the animals I like the most. Next to Milksnakes.
Oh, and Doug I have a corn snake that looks alot like the one you posted. I'll get a photo of her, to compair how close they look like each other.

Nice diverse collection, Randy. I love those trans pecos rats. I've always had a thing for those. Do they look like that as adults as well? Post some pics of your adults if you can.

Thanks Dave. They dont have as much of a color difference from head to tail as they grow but the base colors are about the same. Here are the parents to both. Randy W.

those are awesome. I'll have to contain myself or I'll be into trans pecos rats before I know it. Thanks for posting the pics.

What is that first snake pictured...the green one?
Thanks,
Rusty
Hey Rusty, it's a Prasina.
Great looking snake...reminds me of my rough green snakes!
Are you producing these next year???
-RG
No but hopefully next year. They are really cool snakes. Most get bluish eyes as they age and the black skin around the edge of their scales, in the upper part of their body shows up a lot more the larger they get. The only bad thing is their eggs are known to be hard to hatch. Some just cant seem to hatch them out and some have fairly good luck.

The are so cool looking...they remind me of a Sonoran Whipsnake:
http://www.geocities.com/crotaphytus12/sonoranwhipsnake001.html
AWESOME Snake!
Hard to hatch eggs??? Really? I'm sure you won't have a problem.
-Rusty
The green snake [is it a "green grass snake"?] is gorgeous! I've always heard that they are difficult to care for. Has that been your experience?
Pavel

Great thread! Like many others, I have a touch of the snake Attention deficiet disorder so like em all....

From a "personality" standpoint, it's hard to beat Russian Rats. American Rat Snakes rank right up there too. After that I say any type of Pituophis is worthy of a large degree of favoritism.

Green Tree Pythons and Jungle Carpet Pythons are my top two non venomous snakes. With that said I enjoy every snake that I keep, I don't keep any HOTS and never will..
One of my favorite venomous snake is the Gaboon Viper followed closely by the Eyelash Viper.

NIIIICE Joe. Is that one of the pair Vin had in Chantilly? RW
Hi Randy,
Yes, that is one that we got from Vin Russo in Dulles. I was just looking at your green critters on here. If those are the babies it sure looks like they have been good feeders. They look great!
Thanks!

Good buy on the boas. Those are really cool.
The corn islands I got from him this year are doing great.
The prasina I posted is actually going on two this year. I already had a pair of yearlings from a different bloodline that I got from Rex at Daytona the year before last. Here's one of the pair I picked up back in september.

I did some researching a while back on those little dwarfs,.....very rare animals indeed, and VERY limited numbers available..........very cool acquisition Joe!

Bairds Rat

There are so many cool snakes out there! Though I've never owned one and don't see that I ever will, I think my favorite spot would have to go to emerald tree boas.

Zonatas and alternas all the way man . . . . but all herps are awesome either way.

I like all snakes, all critters actually., I'd actually hate to think what would happen IF I would ever hit a 100 million dollar lottery......watch out Mark Bell and Brian Barczyck......LOL(@30,000 snakes a year, each!)....
....ALL the pics and choices are so nice.I hope I remember to come in here and ask when I want something, never can find stuff for sale when you want it, ......never have room for much anyways...
SO< ball pythons..sweet as hell, and not one of you posted a ball! wow.......they are boring at times, but so are most critters, balls lay around and do nothing, but at one defecation a month, they sure beat ratsnakes anyday....(3 a day at tiems,,,)
......nice posts, nice snakes........
and I am definately gettijng rid of normal balls and most corns......
Thanxx......no pics, sorry, 3 cameras doing nothing.......LOL

Well, as far as captive critters go, I'd have to vote for hognose or rubber boas, although cornsnakes and mexicana complex kings, mountain kings, and pretty much everything else already listed in other posts ranks high in my book, too.
