HELP!!! Red Foot Tortoise eggs

junospride Jan 24, 2008 04:09 PM

I need HELP!!!! I have had 4 female Red foots who have been laying eggs for awhile now. I tried to incubate the eggs last season, and not one clutch of 8 hatched. I am so frustrated. They are laying again. What can I do to make this work? I had the temp set right, that I know. Thanks!

Could the eggs be infertile? Are the females in good health? Are you sure "the right temp" is really the right temp (some sources for incubating temps are not reliable)?

Did you post this question on the tortoise forum, as well?

I have practically no experience with torts. But the wonderful people at Tortoise Trust (http://www.tortoisetrust.org/) do, and they have lots of awesome information on their website and many very knowledgable people.
