Hi Chris,

It's been awhile Chris, Hope your doing well. I wanted to ask you about your opinion on the Vision Boa rack they have out now. I know you had one of the earlier aluminum ones and kind of liked it.

I currently house my adult Gaigeae in Vision #400s with nice black plastic Carlisle table busing boxes with lids(REAL nice hides at instawares)but the snakes mostly stay in them. They come out to deficate and occasionally are out to enjoy seeing but I've been thinking if they are going to spend most of their time out of site anyway maybe I should just think of keeping them in an easily serviced rack with aspen where at least they can stretch out. The freedom breeder and ARS larger racks are a bit cost prohibitive but may be a possibility.

I still maintain they are one of the coolest snakes out there but unfortunately they are not great display animals, prefering to hide a lot. At least in my experience.

Thanks,
Bob Stranzenbach

Hey Bob,

I still have not seen any of the second generation Vision racks much less the new Boa rack so I really don't have an opinion. My original Vision racks are still working great and I am quite fond of them. I have a bunch of the CB-80 boxes and consider seeing of they still have enough of the old parts around to build me a few more.

I'd like to think that since the original rack was so good that any follow-up to it would be at least as good, but I have no real-world experience to back that up.

I know indirectly of two keepers who have both the originals and the newer Vision racks. One prefers the old, one prefers the new, but neither seemed unhappy with either. But these are just the CB-70 racks, not the Boa racks.

Boy, that was a long response to basically say I have no idea

I don't have any of the Boa racks, but I think I have all of the others... I've been really happy with the Vision racks - they go together easily, allow you to modify the heat yourself (with heat cable), and are priced very competitively. If I had snakes large enough for the Boa racks I wouldn't hesitate to use them. For gaigae you might find that the CB-70 rack is enough space.

Thanks Lee. I have the Animal plastics CB110 but I'd like to keep them in something bigger if I do choose to go back to a rack. Thanks for the heads up on their construction. Word of mouth is the most covincing thing when making a choice.

Bob.
