Anyone have good pics of hypo puebs?

mfoux Jan 24, 2008 06:04 PM

I love hypo pueblans and was wondering if any of you guys have some good pics. I've seen the ones at Bayou Reptiles and a couple of others. Kinda like to see some more.

There is a picture of one on Don Shores' website...

That one is Bayou Reptiles stock.
And from the information I've gathered that is the only stock that is pure campbelli.

Thanks, Mike. That is a good looking snake that Don has. I wanted to buy one from him this year, but he was either out or they didn't produce. I've seen a few others at shows that were supposed to be Bayou stock. The hatchlings and juves were all really dark, but the ones Bayou had at the same show were much lighter and more along the lines of what I was looking for. I've heard that these get lighter and brighter as they grow. Do you know anything about that?

From what I've heard all the hypo puebs start off kind of dark and lighten up as they grow.
Mine currently are probably around 15" and are just starting to look hypo.

And I think Don has some available right now...

Mike, I picked him up about 2 years ago from Reptile addicts. They picked up a pair and all I wanted was the male because the female had a horrible pattern and didn't even look hypo even though she was....Joe

MikeFedzen Jan 26, 2008 03:38 PM

What was wrong with the female's pattern?

Mike, I am a real stickler for a nice even pattern with no tipping. The female had lots of crossovers which I personally don't care for. Just my personal preference.....Joe

Here is a sweet male I used to own. Yes, they do get lighter with age.

What's to like to about the hypo pueblans? Have one breeder male I'll be unloading this summer. Until they start mimicking the extreme hypos, I don't put much stock in them. Mine is from the Bayou, which came in a trade, I've come to regret.

Just personal preference. I've seen nice ones and not so nice ones.
