How do Breeders get leos big fast?

jack7777766 Feb 08, 2003 12:53 AM

Hi,
I have a 2 month old leo and she is eating three mealies a day.
I would like her to grow a little fast so she is not so delicate.
So I wanted to know how do breeders feed them to get them breeding fast, I know they do this when they get hatchlings they want to breed.
So what food do they give them, how do they give it, how many times a day?
Basically how do they do to make their leos grow fast?

Thanks
Jack

3 mealies a day... thats is?!?

You could offer her a lot more than that, and she'll probably take it too. Try giving her more food. And remember, you can always use some waxworms to fatten her up a little, but not too often as they are just like a "treat" as we humans eat chips and dip, not the healthiest food for them to be eating on a regular basis.

Make sure that your feeder insects are always fed a nutricious gut-load.

The perfect gut-load you can use is provided at the link below. Along with this diet I also add other ingredients such as...corn meal, wheat bran, oat bran, oragnic rye flakes, fish food flakes, oatmeal, and ground flax seed.
For moisture I also give baby cut carrots and spinach leaves as they will not mold.

With this diet your leos will gain good weight and should get plump. I have noticed that in my leos ever since I started using it...it works great. Their overall health is better, their tails are "plumper" and they love the taste of it! I started using the recipe a few months after I had gotten into the hobby of leos which is almost 2 1/2 to 3 years ago, and its works great and I love it!!!
Hope you like it as well!
