I have been perusing my back issues of Reptiles Magazine searching for the Living Vivarium columns for setting up a group of 5 p.terriblis. Searcy potting soil uses partially decomposted Oak leaves to provide beneficial bacteria and fungi. He says not to use maple. The problem is that I don't live near any oak trees. We have tons of maple, cottonwood, and elm. Does anyone know if cottonwood or elm leaves would work? Or other suggestions for good debris? Thanks.
