Could be a small getula, could be a racer, It is definitely a king eating a snake. I couldn't make out any markings on the smaller snakes belly, you can see the dark squares on the larger kings belly. Indefinite.

I've caught a few speckleds that have that chainlike pattern. I live so far south in Louisiana that I don't think they're integraded with anything. I have one right now that I picked up from the road near my old house.

I would say that's definitely a baby king being eaten. The video could easily have been staged though.

I think it is real but that just makes me wonder what events led up to it. Either one of those kings could have been an interloper, or the big one could have been hungry. The family bonding, cannabalism due to lack of food, overcrowding, etc. is exactly what we see in mice all the time. If you let two mice breed and raise the babies all in the same cage the males don't fight. But run out of food or water or let the cage get too crowded, too dirty or throw in another mouse from a different cage and all hell breaks loose with males fighting, moms eating babies, etc. Is it so hard to think kings might have similar behaviors? Just ranting.
