PIEBALD BREEDING

kumasi Jan 25, 2008 01:21 AM

In a couple of days I will be receiving a piebald. Interested in opinions as to what are the best pairs....other than another piebald. Please help with some opinions. Thanks.

There are so many cool pied projects we havent seen and some we have, but one of my favorite and most affordable is the pastel pied, not to mention they look awesome!!!

Thanks for the info. I was actually considering pastels or albinos.

The albino pied is still just another snake that's white and yellow like other albinos. Now the LAVENDER albino pied (dreamsicle) is awesome, but if it were me I'd go with the pastel. The pastel is still one of the coolest ( to me) and cheapest morphs out there and it just makes every combo look better. If youre doing it just for the money, then you may want to go with another morph though.

I like the Spied. Spider X Pied, the only one I have seen was 95% white. Had an all white body with the Spider head. I think a 60-40 Spied would be absolutely beautiful.

Except for the head, as you mentioned. I don't think there have been any that aren't all white, except for the head.

That's all I have seen, but is it not possible to produce a 50/50? How may breeders have produced them? The only one I know is Roussis.

I don't know how many have been produced. I'm sure it is still possible to get something different, but all the breeders I have spoke to think white snake with colored head is it. A bee pied, caramel spied, and who knows what else could change the color of the head.

Either that or a super cinny pied? Maybe a silver bullet pied?

I need a pied!!

if you breed the pied to albinos, pastels, spiders your going to get hets for whatever you breed them too than wait to breed them back than get the visual. its a long wait!! correct please if im wrong? thats if your willing to wait those years?? good luck!

ChristopherD Jan 25, 2008 12:35 PM

They are all waiting games!
Recessives:make double hets in 3 yrs.then 3 more yrs.dhxdh for a 1 in 16 chance of dbl. homo

co-doms:3 yrs for possibly a co-dom het recessive,then 3yrs the odds are much better for a co-dom(visible) recessive(visible)and possibly a Dom(super)Recessive .

You can get there a little faster with the co-doms if you happen to produce a co-dom/het pied male and breed him to another pied or het pied female, no inbreeding that way, too.
