Hi you...i'm new here

Miliaris Aug 26, 2003 05:54 PM

I hope you can give me some advice...
i live in Brasil and really like herps. you probably know that Brasil is a paradise for reptiles, but unfortunatly our governamental organs don't give a [bleep] for captive breeding...not until now.
Well, i would like to know the best temp you use for corn snake egg incubation and all the information you could pass for a partner from south america.
i'm a proud owner of some incredible Liophis, ball pythons, corn snakes and some other animals.
See you...

Hi!

Welcome to the forums

When i incubated my corn eggs i used 82-83 degrees fahrenheit But i have heard that the range can be anywhere from 78-85 but i won't use those extremes because too high or too low can cause developemental problems in the hatchlings.

Any Pics of your corns? What morphs do you have?

Thanks for your help...
What umidity do you use?
I have some pics of my animals, but to be sure they are all very bad. I'll try to take some more and then i'll send to you.
I have two corns, the female is an amelanistic okeetee and the male is normal, i think. i also have a pair of leo geckos, a Boa constrictor amarali and a Epicrates cenchria assizi.
Do you know the snake Liophis Miliaris? They are beautiful...i have a pair.
Except for the boa and the epicrates, i'm expecting a couple of eggs in the next months...
Bye

I don't use a specific humidity but i use a 1:1 ratio of vermiculate to water and that did fine for the entire incubation with just a little bit of adding water every other week. only a little bit of water if the medium seems dry. Also you can put moist paper towels ontop of the eggs to keep in water. If the eggs begin to dent prematurely it mean you need hight humidity.

I love amel okeetees and normals but i don't have any of either morph. What does the normal look like that you wonder wether or not he is normal? My pics are horrid and taken with a really cheap digi cam so yours can't be that bad LOL but i look forward to seeing some pics of yours I have leos too. Liophis Miliaris are beautiful snakes but i don't know much about them. How big do they get? What do you feed them? Do you breed them? Sorry for all the Q's

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Please overlook some of the bickering going on. We tend to get a little tense sometimes but all and all this is a great forum and you will find a lot of knowledgable people more then willing to help.
