I posted about a month ago about how my iguana "turned" on me. I was sitting in bed & he climbed up & charged at my face. He did that only when I was in my bed or when I was on the couch. That only lasted for a few days. PHMelissa asked if he is for sure a he & the answer is yes. So I read her articles on breeding agression & found that could be the case. It's wasn't my time of the month either & it never is when he does this. But what about right now?

Anyway, he stopped for a while & he now does it every once & a while, I figued out he is either after my eyes or my mouth or both. He especially does it when he is staring at/trying to fight the "bad mirror iguana" in my closet doors while he sits on my bed. When I come over to him & sit down, he goes nuts on me!

I still don't understand what is going on here? I am pretty sure he is out of his season & he is fine with me 95% of the time! Could it be that he is getting territorial of my bed? He loves my bed for some reason, I think it's my pillows & blankets that he likes to play in....

Yes, he could be claiming your bed. Many iguanas, including my female are very territorial about their cage.

What were you wearing? My male charges at iguana t-shirts. Others don't like red, etc.

Your iguana is very orange.......looks like breeding season behavior. You should be careful. My iguana doesn't like it when I wear blue or green and will leap on top of me.

I can't figure out what will make him charge at me... I am always wearing tank tops. I am doing little tests here & there, like when he puffs up & starts running towards my face, I will put my hands over my eyes & mouth & he will stop. I hope this is just a phase. Oh and my ig is only orange like that when he sleeps sometimes or when he's really pissed.

My 7 years old male iguana is charging against me for the last 8 months.He charges mainly against my face when we are at the same level.I think he doesnt like the shape of my nose!lol!He already bit my fingers and didnt want to let go.I intend to give him away to a friend that has a house with a huge tropical garden.I cant keep him caged 24/24 hours a day anymore.Thats not a life for him and im feeling guilty but if/when i open his cage he attack sme again!

Do you know why igs open their mouths like that? It looks like a yawn or a stretch. Yea I know what you mean about the same level thing. It;s either my eyes or my mouth that he is hating!

In this particular moment Godzilla was preparing a wild attack against me!He opened his mouth to...bite me!(sniff...sniff...)
