Hypos shed has no pattern on it ?

exposito Jan 27, 2008 08:13 AM

I was cleaning and feeding last night and the first two sheds that I found were that of a Hypo and a Ghost. Each of the sheds had a pattern on them. The Hypo and a pic of its shed are below.
The pattern is not as dark as you might see on a normal, but it is there.

Thanks!

Also, we do have Hypos that shed pretty clean without any pattern you can see on them, but the presence of a pattern on the shed does not mean that the snake is not a Hypo.

Thanks!

Joe I have seen some pattern on several hypo sheds over the years too. This was on wider and darker banded hypos and the pattern is much fainter than on regular hondo sheds but still a pattern none the less. I think that theory is similar to a extreme not being able to have any tipping at all. Both are unusual and far from the norm but do happen. Randy W.

No doubt that is a hypo and you can see some pigment in the shed .. not very much pigment there thats for sure but still intersting. I think Mike Falcon mentioned before that he has seen this, I personally never have or maybe I'm just not looking hard enough.

Hi Jon,

Your problem is that all your Hypos are very nice. They are very light and many of them do not have much of a pattern to begin with. I think that is why you don't see anything in the sheds. Are you making the long ride to Daytona this year?

Thanks!

I reserved a room and was planning to fly down but its looking like I may be stuck with a DJ job that weekend. Man does it suck being busy. I wish these expo's had their dates planned earlier so that I could put them on my calendar instead of other crap.

Take care Joe, I also wish you good luck in the upcoming season - you have gathered a very nice collection!
