Help!!! GTP regurge

fastjunkie Jan 27, 2008 01:15 PM

My very healthy and well started female regurged within 24 hrs of feeding. She is an '06 300g,cbb chondro with no prior health issues.I upped her meal sixe 3 weeks ago and I hope that the regurge was linked to the meal size and not a health issue.I've also had a little trouble keeping the temps in my snake room stable with the cold weather,I try to stay at 84 degrees but unfortunatly they have been fluxuating from 79-81 degrees.Does this mean certain death? Can I do anything to help assure her recovery?Any input will be appreciated.
Thanx,
Mike

What does the vet have to say? It's possible that it's from the size of the animal, but it's also possible that there is too low a temp to digest properly, parasites, or something else entirely. What does the breeder you got it from have to say? Can you supplement the heat in order to get your temps up to around 82? I don't keep mine higher than that. No matter what, I'd wait at least 10 days before attempting to feed again, and then offer a food item much smaller than normal for at least 3 feedings. I'd give it at least a week between those feedings to be sure it's had ample time to digest the meal. I'm really not sure that the temps are all that is the problem unless you really have a sensitive chondro and it's getting stressed out by it. I keep my cages at 82 on the warm side and most of mine spend their day on the cool side unless they are going to shed. Only 2 keep on the warm side most of the time.
