HA!.....ya...it does help, although....Im broke all the time....so its all relative....In all honesty, its never too late, not to be so serious,it means a lot to me, but its never to late to do anything you want to do.....I started doing this when I was 26....so go for it...then by the time I recreate that sick strawberry shortcake albino, youll have some cash.....

When I'm not cleaning snake cages or rodent cages I like to write songs. I used to be in band that went on a cross country tour in the seventies. The band that I was in recorded an album in 1975. Since then I have written songs for friends weddings.

The biggest thril for me would be to write a song that ends up on a super star's CD. Hey if you're going to dream dream big....

I'm an audiophile, an out of control, live music junkie.

I collect live concerts. I started out getting every Zeppelin
concert I could get my hands on growing up, but my musical
tastes have broadened since then. I like old Jazz radio
broadcasts and good live rock and roll. I also like to go
hiking in the Everglades every chance I can get...

Here's my pregnant Amaralli. Hopefully she will have a nice
healthy litter right before summer this year...

My boyfriend and I are involved with cars quite a bit, mostly drag racing. He has a 92 Camaro that he's currently building to be mostly a "track only" car. I have a 00 Trans Am that I'd like to get some mods done on, but the funds are low with the loan payments and obviously this other boa hobby I have, haha.

I sold it shortly after I got the GSR750.
I should have kept it though. It was paid for, free and clear, and spotless. Plus it got better gas mileage. Then I could have made the GSR a project toy. It was a great bike and never let me down. I may yet, buy another one. Then turn the GSR into a 2WheelTuner.

Hiking/ backing/camping
Mountain Biking
Kayaking
Archery (I make my own bows)
Gunsmithing and “collecting”
Wood and metal work

Now I have two little girls so I can only do so much, the snakes are something we do together. I am going to try skydiving when I get back to CA from Germany; I talked my little brother into it last fall and it looked like a blast!

BNixon Jan 28, 2008 10:12 AM

I enjoy keeping and breeding my boas, along with Weight Training, and Scuba Diving....been Dive Qualified since early 2006, have dived in Japan and in Australia. Been lifting weights since 2004, most I have gotten up to was 220 with less than 10% BF...Its all good and fun, just a matter of what I can do next.

BOAS AND SKATEBOARDING Ive completely dedicated my life to things im no good at!

AbsoluteApril Jan 28, 2008 03:07 PM

Snakes are the #1 hobby and take up most of my ‘free time’. I'd fish and camp more if I had the time. I also help my fiance with his start-up skateboarding business (he’s a retired pro). I used to collect action figures but sold them all a few years back (but kept the comics!). Other than that, does watching movies count?

AbsoluteApril Jan 28, 2008 06:24 PM

>>Who's your fiance?
>>Anybody we'd know?

Probably not, he got outta the biz right when it started to blow up. (used to ride for Lucky, Venture, Think, etc) J. Strickland, he used to be associated with Birdhouse and then helped form Baker Skateboards with Andrew Reynolds then later he helped start Bootleg which is no longer around. He's working on his own skater-stared and owned company now called Strickland Skateboards, still in it's infancy. He had a couple pics in magazines a while ago but nothing big.

We were high school sweethearts before he got really into it and just met again a few years back through Myspace if you can believe it.

There's a link here, but it's not all accurate...

When are you guys getting married?

AbsoluteApril Jan 28, 2008 06:32 PM

10-20-10 is the big day (weddings sure can be expensive! sheesh!)

I noticed you have a fiance as well, congrats to you as well!

voodoomagik Jan 28, 2008 08:01 PM

Thanks, April!
I KNOW what you mean about those expensive weddings. We're paying for our wedding as well and it's THIS YEAR! 11-21-08!
We're doing engagement pics in February. We told the photographers about our snakes and they're totally psyched to have them in the pics. We're going to have some in the engagement pics and maybe some for the wedding pics.
We're getting married in St. Augustine, FL which is about 2 hours north of where we live so I'm not sure I want to bring a critter and cage and everything up there.
Here're pics of the anery we're going to use for the engagement pics and the hypo we WOULD use for the wedding pics IF we go that route.
We were thinking about an albino, but the male will be breeding and the female is PURE EVIL!

Oh, and here's us, too!

LOL, 47, goin' strong and earned every year of it!!!

I readily admit I owe a lot to my Dad although he never would know it, he passed away from natural causes when I was a kid. That event had a profound affect on me. Besides the negative sucky part of losing a parent, it left me with an everlasting zest and appreciation for life. Rarely a day goes by I do not think of him and revel in the wonder of life.

I work out a lot. Mainly stretching, some cardio and light weights, but that's really to help with some back injuries from a while ago.
I used to be in a band-started an indy record label and recorded a cd, but that was a WHILE ago. We have a myspace page (even though I don't like myspace). www.myspace.com/salmonfaithusa (I think)
I used to do Aikido (a martial art) which I really hope to get back to soon, but now I just work too much and spend as much time as I can with my fiance and my boas.

Don't have much time any more for my hobbies, but I do have decent collection of fossil shark teeth. Here are my big ones. The one on the lower right is about 6 1/4" long on the slant and weighs well over a pound. The best one, though, is the one to it's left, it's a 6" in really good condition.

Shark Tooth River in NJ?

I went once...it was pretty cool...found nothing that large though. I met a professor that had a 5 gallon bucket filled with 1000's of prehistoric sharks teeth from that area.

pretty cool stuff.

It's funny, I grew up in NJ, but I didn't get into shark teeth
until I was in my 30's and living in North Carolina. But yeah,
you can't find any big megalodon teeth in NJ. But it's great
fun to collect them, regardless of size. It's a great hobby.

Thanks,
Ed

I have school!

In addition to breeding snakes, I also breed fancy rats (www.ragdollrattery.com). It's a very fun side project that keeps me busy between generations of my snakes.

I draw and paint, play video games (my boyfriend's got me hooked on rock band atm), and of course, work a lot...but since I work for a reptile store, it almost doesn't count!

Seriously, between work, school, and maintaining my collections, I don't have much free time. My 21st birthday is coming up and the party is having to wait until a convenient weekend because I can't afford to miss my lab class!

Hobbies...hmmm....Movies, Guitar, Traveling, My child, Field Herping, Traveling, DIY home stuff (not in any particular order)

I watch a lot of movies. I've had 4 major abdominal surgeries in the past 5 years and I'm only 31....it's taken a toll on me. As a result, I enjoy really good movies of all genres.

I also have a 3 yr old kid that keeps me young!

I play guitar (not any good). Tonight, my daughter played her mini-keyboard while I played..she called us 'The Rock Guys' band. It was fun.

Summer hobbies...being a bum on the beach with a good book, kayaking on NJ coast, and field herping the pine barrens. (winter pretty much sucks). My wife & I travel a lot too....usually tropical spots...beach for her, herps for me.lol

My full time job is a h.s. bio teacher...I have 2 herp collections...my private one and the reptiles I keep in my classroom (totals about 2 dozen). Its a lot of work.

I'm also a DIYer...I like doing home improvement projects myself.

Thats about it. Nothing exciting or dangerous like racing, weapons, diving with sharks or climbing the Himalayas.lol...not yet anyway....I still consider myself a kid at heart.
