2008 Shows

exposito Jan 27, 2008 05:26 PM

I am curious about what shows our fellow Milk snake breeders are going to be attending as visitors or vendors this year. We are looking at Daytona, Chicago, Dulles, and MARS. Please share your thoughts on the 2008 shows.

Thanks!

Daytona and Chantilly. Hopefully Chantilly will pick up this year.

I'll second that but likely do Richmond as well. Anyone know how the NC shows have been performing of late?

I was thinking about doing Chantilly in addition to the shows that are local to me (Raleigh and possibly Columbia). They're even talking about having a show in Charlotte in the near future!

Never been to Chantilly though, does anyone know if its a good show or not?

There were a lot of good breeders there last year Dave but none of us sold much. With it being it's first year I guess it should have been expected. Most of the others I talked to said they were coming back this year. A lot of people stayed at the host hotel and hung out after the show each day so it had a really nice feel about the whole weekend. Randy W.

I'm more than likely going to hit Daytona again(as a visitor). And will look forward to seeing you again, as well as many other herper buddies. I saw a lot of good folks I haven't seen for a long time there this past summer.

I'll be at the All New England Reptile Expo in Manchester, NH in October as a vendor (great regional show) and plan on heading to MARS in September as a visitor. Anybody have anythi to say about MARS?

MARS is a great show! I used to live in DC and MARS was the first show I ever attended. I have not been in a couple of years as I have moved but it used to be well attended by vendors and I always enjoyed myself. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Rob, too.

I felt like attendance was down at all of the shows that we went to last year, but I think that was more of a reflection of the economy and not the shows. This year Milk fans should have an extra $600 to $1200 to spend thanks to the stimulus package, so we are looking forward to this year with optimism.

Thanks for your thoughts!
