...one of the "heavy hitters" in the turtle world -

Jim Harding is coming to John Ball Zoo in early Feb - I think the 9th - in Grand Rapids to give a talk on wood turtles. I guess it's what you might call cooperation among those who educators in biology and into conservation, essentially what folks at the zoo and Jim are.

Is he coming to talk at the Michigan Herp. Soc. meeting?

He's a great guy, very personable and has always taken time to answer my questions, even though I have never met him in person. Congratulations! Ask him about his books for kids.

I don't know anything about the Michigan Herp. Soc. - he made no mention of it. Are they meeting the weekend of the 9th in Grand Rapids?

They usually meet the third week of the month. I looked on their website, and they still have the 2007 calendar up. I emailed somebody, but never got a response. They do meet at the zoo though.

I guess it doesn't matter though! Have fun!
