Off the subject but HELP!

JoshMolone Jan 28, 2008 04:57 PM

I need some help with a hognose snake....

I think he may have some kind of disease. His eyes have gone blood red and caving in and his nose is doing the same. It started on his left eye and moved to his nose then his right eye.
My mom wont let me take him to the vet. She loves the Hognose but she says its nothing! I dont know what to do..
He is quarantined from all my other reptiles.
Please any help will do!

That can't be good! Are you sure it didn't suffer some kind of fall? Or get its head clamped in the cage lid?

Maybe show your mom some pictures of a normal hognose's face so she can see how messed up yours is. I think it needs a vet asap!

Hes never had a head injury or anything... Its slowly been spreading and then within a day it was alover his face.
Ive heard hognose's get alot of diseases from frogs and toads? Could that have happened?

Tell your mom to call the vet and describe what it is doing so he can tell her it needs help.

The only other option I can think of is to call a breeder and describe it to them and tell her what they said, maybe that will show her there is a problem.

Good luck!

I have a hognose myself and have never even heard of this type of thing. I really think it should go to the vet. Show your mom all of the comments here and maybe she'll see that it really does need to go to the vet. Good luck.
