I was reading the post below and saw many people play. We need to have a All Star Herp Jam. Maybe a benefit concert to raise money for me to buy more snakes!!!!
Here's some pics of my setup.

Now that's a classic drum kit. Looks like it's in great shape too. How old are those?....30 years? Very cool.
BTW, I'm all about a kingsnake jam. Daytona or Chicago?

I know of more than one herper that plays, it must go hand-in-hand somehow. I'm a bassist and I've played in many different bands. I'm currently in a 60's band and a church group. I'd love to do an 80's hardcore group someday, maybe a Rammstein tribute band. Getting a custom '51 reissue P on Friday, can't wait!

Bart! how the heck are you? long long time!! ever pair up that va n. pine I caught? you know I have not returned since and I know of no others collected since. are they that rare in the state of va? Is the pine still extant and may I see a pic? whatever became of him(her?). going to be in daytona this year? as for the herp and music passion, I also find it to be true. a huge proportion compared to the general public are involved in some kind of artistic pursuit(usually it is music) along with the herp mania. I think that it is our sensitivity to higher beauty that the avg joe public lacks that gives us these passions. whaddaya think? ps as an aside I have noticed a large proportion of lefties(myself included) with both passions.
Still have him, 17 years plus now. I'm also a lefty, it's easier to find instruments now, as long as you don't look for them in Connecticut. There is a prevailing attitude in this state that lefy basses are rare, I know otherwise. I have a number of them. I view instruments the way I view Pine Snakes; they're all different, and one or two is not enough.

lol. true, all true.i like your analogy of pine snakes to guitars. you gotta send me a pic of the old boy. were you as unaware as me as to the rarity of the n. pine in va 17 yrs ago? I will tell you this, if the habitat still remains where I traipsed around 17 or 18 yrs ago(and who knows, in this age of overdevelopment and habitat destruction)then at least in that proscribed area I'd bet there is a good population of n. pines doing their thing still.
Wow Howie that's a hell of a lot of questions in one post! Lol!!!
Post pics of the Va. Pine when yous guys gets a chance!
As soon as I figure out what box I packed my camera in I'll post photo's of my '62 Les Paul Special and Marshall JCM 800. I'm right handed though. Oh well.
