Is anyone working on this project. I think a lavender albino/clown would be the bomb.
Has this already been done? If so where could I find pics?
Thanks, David Perkins

Thanks for posting that thread. Boy how I would love to get a pair of those normal looking babies.(dream on)
Very cool, congrats and good luck Justin.

Thanks!
I know I am not nearly the first begin working on this project but I think this particular combo will definitely be one of the "best yet" for bp morphs!
(I'm imagining a light yellow animal with purple stripe down the back and dripping down the sides with the classic clown tear drops...)
Keep checking back for updates!

ooooh...that sounds sooo nice. Can't wait to see what hatches once you get those DHs to breed. I'm sure it will be freakin' awesome.

we have been going balls to the walls literally on this project! we purchased an '04 double het lav-clown pair from VPI and with the aid of ultrasound were able to get 16 clutches from the male as a 1.5 year old in '07! to date we have made over forty 25% double het lav-clown females the past two years...or as we like to think of them: 25% normals
lol!
the double het female is over 2500 grams this year and has been breeding with Excalibur, one of our breeder lav males...we plan to keep all the visible males from the clutch and run them through the 40_+ poss double het females that will start coming on line this fall...statistically, 10+ of them will prove out as double hets! talk about counting snakes before they are hatched! for a buncha pics and info about the lav project in general, and Excalibur locked up with some females, check out our cheesy home made website when you get a chance via the link attached below!

Well I know you did not claim that they would be Het but with that pairing the Visual males would still only be POSSIBLE het for clown. You could miss the odds and you wouldn't know. Then you run them through all of the poss double het females you might miss out on proving they are really het for clown also.
Just my observation

very true! we breed for lavs first...any clowns that might pop out are just scrap you know
lol!
worse case scenario: imagine having to deal with the horrible predicament of having a bunch of lavs that are poss het clown! best case scenario: one or more of the lav poss het clown males proves out and we crank out a few double homo males...
Wow....my breeding projects all seem lame compared to that. Someday when the prices come down, (and they will) I'm going to have a LA or at least a couple hets.
For now I can only dream.
Good luck on hitting the odds, may the ball python gods smile upon you.

dave,
so you think your breeding efforts are small and insignificant? everyone is small and pathetic compared to somebody, and that somebody is BHB!! lol! anyone who wants to be humbled by shear quantity, depth, and quality of breeding projects need only stop by brian's little barn sometime! we are all like ropes on the goodyear blimp compared to that dude!

Awesome start man, when we talked in Daytona I could barely believe you had such a huge start to that project and were in it up to the eyeballs!
All the best to you this year.

you must have met my dad, i was in korea last summer during daytona playing with the navy...boy it must be nice having adult clown females to make your own double hets! no need to have to do it the "poorman's way." we sure paid dearly for our pair back in '05!!! lol! we are big time jealous! good luck on the season bro!

Oh ok... sorry about that. Hopefully I can meet you too next time. Your dad and I had fun talking, even went out to dinner.
All the best to you too man!

Justin,
I am the Grant that spoke with you over dinner at Daytona. Good to hear from you. I have been following your posts and really am jealous of your clowns! "Sneaky" is my son (Grant III) and "partner". I use the term partner "loosely" as in our case partner means that I get to take care of the snakes as he lives in a different state and he gets to spend his time cruising KS. Anyway, I did enjoy our conversation and good luck with your projects this season. If you get low on rats, send me one of your big fat Clown females.
Grant
how big are the eggs your seeing with the ultra sound? could just be follicles.
