Carpet Pythons and water?

justinmatthew Jan 29, 2008 02:33 PM

Do Jungle Carpet Pythons typically spend a lot of time in water? I have a 2006 female that spends almost all of her time in the water bowl. I can't find any trace of mites so I know it could be that she just wants to be there, but I was just curious to see if as a whole they often spend much time in the water?

I've never seen my male JCP soak.

Do you have a couple of hides for her to disappear completely into inside her enclosure?

Might be soaking because she feels like it's the only place to hide...

My male is hiding 99% of the time during the day underneath one of his hides...

I was going to say to check the temps as well....every once in a while I'll see one soak just prior to a shed, but even that's rare....having ruled out mites, what's your temp gradient?
