Habba Mist

NealH Aug 26, 2003 08:30 PM

Has anyone used the ZooMed Habba Mist? If so, is it possible to run more than one head off of it? Also, how fine is the mist? It looks interesting because it's much smaller and less expensive than most of the automatic misters, and smaller than the ultrasonic humidifier I have on my tank right now. Any reviews would be great.
Thanks,
Neal

I dont have any personal expierience but I hear it really doesnt work to well. It looks like it would need refilling at the end of every day and really looks like it is very weak.
You should still spray even with the US mister..

I saw that unit at the Irba show. The manufacturer was showing it to introduce it to the market. I asked about the heads and the staff said that it can not do more then one head. The reservoir is small, and will need some more frequent fillings but it still be more convenient then handspraying. I think I might put one on a tank that holds toads needing less humidity then my darts. The smaller size attracted me too.

I have had experience with this mister. We have them at my work. The mist is not fine enough for the frogs. I thinkt hat it would stress them out not only by the size of the water droplets but also the amount of noise that the system produces.

To solve the problem of the amount of water it holds:
I think that you would be able to use an external wter source such as a 5 gallon bucket by attaching the spray nozzle to the external source via aquarium tubing.

Hope this helps!

I thought someone had posted here about a month or so ago that this unit could handle up to 10 tanks, and that they offered kits or something to expand it.

Oh well, hand misting is easy and cheap.
