Lost scales? Hole in head??

ordinaryworld_ Jan 29, 2008 09:55 PM

I really hope someone could help me with this. My boa just shed today and before he shed I noticed a particularly dry spot on his head, regardless of the high humidity. So after he shed I took a look at him and this is what I could see on his head! What is it!!??

I am thinking that he lost scales on his head... but the question is why?! He doesn't eat live, the humidity was high and he was exhibiting the dry spot about three days before he actually shed. Someone please help me get answers

That's a tough one. Possible a parisitic entrance wound, with a bacterial infection. In any case you'll need to take a scrape of the site and check for bactria. You might want to do a fecal float too.
