ExecutiveReptiles Jan 30, 2008 02:26 PM

Just picked this little beauty up this last weekend from Ryan Young @ Inland Reptile, really looking forward to pairing her up in the future with our Cinnamon Male. Snapped some new pics of her, and thought I would share...

I would love to see other forum keepers VPI Black Pastels....Post pics if you have them

Oh I'm too scared that snake can slither faster than I can catch. LOL. I'd love to get pics like that, but for now.. the inside of my hosue will have to do.

I hear ya...But all of our Ball Pythons are so mellow and sedate...I can take almost 50 pics of them, before they start to move off the branch...lol, one of the best species to photograph...cause they are so slow...lol

That is an awesome black pastel!!!!! I've never seen one of that quality on the classifieds. GOODLUCK with her in the future!!!

We waited to get one from Ryan Young cause we have been looking at lots of Black Pastels, and the ones he produces had that "look" that we where looking for, many of the Black Pastels seem to be just a little different but not super extreme, all the ones I have seen from him where extreme...and BLACK...black..and really dark...This one to us had that unique and different look that makes Black Pastels so special.

This one was taken with a flash..

I havn't seen enough belly pics of Black Pastels to know what they should look like, but I will tell ya, if everything else looked normal, but she had a belly like this I would think she would be a Yellow Belly (Het Ivory).....Would love to see other peoples belly shots of thier Black Pastels....as well as hear comments on mine...what are they supposed to look like?

The reason I asked is because everywhere I have read their suppose to have clear bellies I thought. I don't even own one so I don't know. I have a project I'm working on that resemles cinni's minus the clear belly. Now I have produced yellow bellies and the ones I have produced didn't look like that. Once again only a few clutches so I'm no expert. However I am working on a granite project and my "granites" bellies I've produced all have a belly that looks exactly like that one.
Sorry for the winded and not so helpful comment but thats all I got for ya.
I hope you get a few responces so I can learn alittle too on this.
Thanks,
Casey

I am hoping people reply with pics to my post above, as I am not interested too...lol, Our Cinnamon has more of a clear belly....and I was expecting the Black Pastels to have it too....So the Yellow Bellies you have produced looked way different...I was trying to compair belly shots of mine to pics off the net...and some seemed pretty darn simular...but I might be blind...lol, Reguardless....She is a beautiful Black Pastel...I just thought she had a weird belly...and hopefully we get to see some comparison shots of others...

Best of luck with your projects...
