thermostat,Rheostat?

tumbslt Jan 30, 2008 05:02 PM

Hey everyone,

Wondering if any of you could advise me on a thermostat or Rheostat that has worked well for you. One that is also a little more reasonably priced than the Helix, any input and or suggestions of types and or places to order from would be a big help,

Thanks again,

Shannon

Herpstat all the way. They are great. I would suggest getting a pro if you are going to be running more than one heating element. For example, I am running a female breeder rack, male breeder rack, incubator, and lighting all on one thermostat. It has 4 outputs. I also have the herpstat 1 or whatever it is called. That one only has 1 output. It works great too, but be careful not to blow the fuse. It is not resetable like the pro. Anyway, hope this helps.

I've never used this, but the price is quite a bit less than a Helix.

I use the Ranco Electronic Temperature Controller. It's not a proportional thermostat like the Helix etc... but honestly for most applications a proportional isn't necessary. If you want a night drop you can look up Johnson temperature controllers.

Here's a link to where I get my Ranco's
