To Will in regards to chuckwalla pics.

Will in regards to your post below about the pale chucks. Those are what I call San Diego chucks. They are like a AZ redback but white to cream to tan where the AZ's are red. They are very cool. I was to Mountain Springs with Richard Montanucci in 1999 I beleivc and the conditions were less than optimal. We only were able to collect one specimen which was in very poor condition and I did not keep him, he looked about 100 years old. I have been wanting to get back there and get a pair but it never seems to work out for me. I drove through quickly last year and it was so dry it was bad. This is supposed to be a good year for chucks due to the rain but I just could not afford to get out this year. ANyway your pics give me inspiration to get out there. Richard was also telling me he collected a record Vestigium out there in the 70's. It was 17 1/2 inches. He said it is in a museum somewhere. I would hate to have gotten bit by him! Tom
