Caught a tree rat

O.K. now what? I can't whack him like my others. I don't have a gas chamber. I don't want to drown him. I used take them up into the hollywood hills and let them go when I had a truck. I am not putting him in my car!

Here in San Jose we've got a lot of power line rats...but I've never seen a tree rat.

I caught a black ( or ship or roof ) rat, also known as Rattus Rattus. I don't want them near my brown ( or common or norway or sewer ) rats, also know as Rattus Norvegicus. The wild rats may have parasites or diseases. Unfortunetly I live in a suburban area with a lot of trees, telephone lines, bushes, and ivy covered walls.

So -- I'm curious of course.... how about an update? What did you end up doing with your new friend?
