feeding new garters

I tried feeding my new red spotted and black necked garters last night and the red spot ate a f/t lg. pinky immediately!I ended up giving it 3 total.The black neck is in shed so,he wasn't interested.I'll post pics after he sheds. Jeff

I was gonna say, I've never had a red spotted refuse to eat. They're pigs man. When I lived in oregon I had a pond near my house full of frogs and plenty of red spotteds in the area.

I had a pair of them and when it came time to feed I'd go scoup up some tadpoles and put about 20 in the water dish. Every last one would be gone in under a minute. No joke.
