question about my geckos

fruitionx Aug 26, 2003 10:11 PM

hi,
i was looking at my geckos tonight and was observing how my female is dominate over my male, they are about equal size. The female was nipping at him to basically stay in his hide and he didn't eat too much that i saw. should i wait a few more days to see if he starts to stand his ground or what? also about how long until a new shipment comes should they be eating? the female eats ALOT now but the male didn't eat maybe this is due to his trip or what?
thanks

It can take a while sometimes for them to eat after coming into a new enviorment. If he does not improve over the next few days I would seperate them for a bit. It sounds as if she wants to dominate the roost, lol.

i think it would be better to just house them separately .. Personally ..unless you do want constant babies..but besides that, i dont know the history between the two, but its always smart to keep a new pet in quarantine for 30-90 days just to be on the safe side..

and stress probably has something to do with him not eating as well as getting picked on...

best of luck
