CA state regulations

Does anyone have a link to the current California state laws/regulations for owning /selling venomous?

I am beginning to think the laws may have changed as I am seeing WDB rattlesnakes (even albinos) sold within the state. I thought that was illegal?????

I remember the law being:

It's legal to obtain /keep only two of each native CA species. They are not to be bred or sold. If the animals were to exchange ownership no monetary amount was to be given, only gifted or donated to the receiver.
All non-native species are illegal without a permit.

Has that changed??????

Thank you for any replies.

Albino rattlesnakes are exempt from regulations. They can be bought or sold.

Hi, Here is my understanding of Ca. state law on venomous.
Here is a link to th Ca. fish and game webpage on animal regulations. http://www.dfg.ca.gov/licensing/pdffiles/fg1518.pdf
See page 9 of the pdf. Where it says "except" by the rattlesnakes, it is saying that venomous are illegal "except" the following, which is any of the native Ca. rattlesnake species and sub-species. No permit needed.
I always hear of the "limit 2 of each species" rule, but have yet to find it in writing at the state level. The state law just says "not restricted". I have heard of it at the county level in some counties though. If anyone knows where it is in writing as a state law, could you please post a link?
Albino rattlesnakes may be bred and sold in Ca., no permit needed.
All hots that are not native to Ca. are illegal without a permit, which is not typically given to private citizens.
Dont forget that you must know your city and county ordinances as well.

Oh, forgot to add, I dont believe you can sell or trade any rattlesnake in Ca. other than albinos.
