Holding down fake plants?

platinumtlc Feb 01, 2008 07:09 PM

I bought some new fake plants for my desert setup, but no base came with them. What can I do to hold down these plants so my COllared won't knock them down? I was thinking a bunch of rocks surrounding it.

Plaster of paris and an upside down bowl, plate, whatever, holds it down.

You could also make a base out of epoxy resin and with pebbles or small rocks layered on top. However, this epoxy could turned out expensive if you have lots of plants to make bases for. Another method, and cheaper, is to get some sandstone-shale from around your area or flagstone from a rockyard. Makes holes in them and insert the plants in them with hot glue. I hot glue the plant/base to the bottom of the enclosure to secure them good.
Here's an example... The base is either sandstone or limestone, I don't remember.
