Any day gecko. They look really cool if you ask me and do not require very extended care. The main cost will be in the starting setup (uv and heat lighting, thermometers, etc.) but after that its just switching light bulbs. You basically have to feed it every other day and dust the crickets with calcium once a week or so. They also like baby food. Not a holding pet though, but awesome to watch. Very active during the day and come in many different patterns. Stick with the small ones though, not the giant ones. Phelsuma is the latin name I believe but I'm pretty bad with those.
How about Striped Cape Gecko (Lygodactylus Capensis)? It is small (3.5inches)and is fit for a 20 gallon vivarium. This gecko feed on common feeder bugs and is easy to maintain. What is required for the setting are those UV lighting.
