Ban is a bait and switch

Snakesunlimited1 Feb 02, 2008 10:36 PM

I like that of all the forums and sites I have been looking at today this is one of two with any action on it. I do hope all of you realize that this is a bait and switch and whoever ends up in the lead or representing us in this will go in with open eyes and not fall for it. If they came out and said that they wanted the big 5 boids banned and that is all they want to here about the subject there would be an uproar like we are seeing now. But they know this and instead they gave us this huge ban list knowing that we will gladly hand them the big 5 boids so we can keep the other stuff because we are stupid...

Please don't be that stupid. Don't allow misinformation like the idea that all boas get 14 feet long. Or that rattlesnake round ups actually sell venom to science. Or that snakes have been shown to have a negative ecological impact (not so far..) in the US mainland. I am going to write a letter and I will also make sure my herp society is made aware of this. I don't think this should be handled with kids gloves, go for the throat but do it without swearing or personal attacks.
