Mechanical method to kill rats

Hi, Whats the best mechanical way to kill big rats? (like the thing with pencil for the mice)

i found that if i take the backside of a cleaver knife and press down hard it snaps the neck and no nosebleeds either, my newest way. If they are smaller like mice, a quick throw to the floor takes care of it.
