Heat source

littlefilly Feb 04, 2008 01:16 PM

I was wondering what type of heat source would be best for ball pythons? I have heard heat mats, flexwatt, lights, ceramic heat emmiters, ect. I have some of the under tank heaters but want to make sure I am using what is best for my ball pythons. Any advise would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks

I would stick to the UTH. Make sure you get the warm side to 89-92 and the cool side 80-82. These temps need to be on the surface where the substrate is. Lights and ceramic heaters seem to dry the air out really bad and make it almost impossible to keep the humidity right. Humidity needs to be between 50-60%.

I agree with the previous reply. I say, go for the under tank heater for your BP.
