interesting color to that specimen, certainly one i havent seen before. i am not working with them but have been trying to for years since they are my favorite species. living here in michigan, the only way i can legally keep them is if i have documentation of where i purchased the snake and proof that it is cbb. this has proven difficult to find.

Just out of curiousity, where was it found? My brother lives in WNY and has twice showed me spots in Canada (Niagara and Toronto) that have surprisingly large populations of melanistic Easter garters. And these showed almost no pattern whatsoever.
