One last thing...

... then I'll shut up. Regarding the USFWS stuff, I've been asking a lot of questions on different forums, since the proposal makes little sense to me from my 20,000-foot view. But at the same time, I think hobbyists/breeders are doing a very poor job explaining why people should oppose it. Most of what I see are vague, "the evil government is taking away all my rights!!!" posts, which, imo, don't help the cause. If I'm going to oppose something, I need to know who/what the enemy is.

I finally got what I think is an informative response. If anyone
is interested, check out the "What are the big 5 boids?" thread on the Boa Forum:

I did go to the PETA site, and did find that they do seem to strongly oppose importing animals. So maybe this legislation is a Machiavellian way of them getting what they want????

Okay, enough of that. I just want to go back to looking at everyone's pictures now.

Thanks,
Ed

Thanks for posting that. The whole animal rights argument has been missing from our discussion and others that I have been part of.

I still maintin that uniting and establishing guidelines FOR OURSELVES would be nothing but healthy for our hobby. However, if some activist group is going to try and take away my passion based on unfounded beliefs. I will join in in, stand up and say HELL NO!

No problem, I think this issue is very confusing to figure out
for those not already familiar with the situation in south Florida. I think you'll get a lot of agreement with your ideas about self-regulation in the hobby, but if the hobby disappears...

I think we all should post some pics in the next couple days,
lighten things up a little bit.

Thanks,
Ed
