Lamiellm Feb 05, 2008 12:50 PM

Has anyone done business with them?? I have heard a couple things about them just checking before I start getting some. Any problems with snakes getting out or anything like that?

I use their 11 high 28 quart Rubbermaid rack for all of my Males and any Females under 2000 grams. I am just getting ready to order my fifth one. The only way a snake can get out of one is if you leave it open. Great product and great people.

In my opinion the Animal Plastics racks are the best option as far as commercial plastic racks go.

They do offer a routing option for 4" flexwatt as well. As I know in the past many didn't like the cable idea, including myself. They have the most heating options of any company. They also offer a large variety of sizes, and will do custom jobs.

AP racks are great. I have 10 and I'm about to order 4 more. Order them in advance though. It takes about a month to get them.

I think they are wonderful racks. I have 3 one smaller shoebox rack and 2 900 series Iris racks...never had a problem with any of them. They are great racks and they get them to you in a reasonable amount of time.

I have one and it is the best rack I have ever used. I am going to order the double wide cb70 tomorrow and pick it up at the Arlington show.

My snakes aren't fat, they're big boned.

I have several of their racks, and I like them, especially the shoe box size. For larger boxes, I would have to say they take second place to Vision racks, which beat them out in price, convenience and ease of setup, and adaptability. Also, when I order a Vision rack, it is delivered within just 3 or 4 days. I've yet to find another company that even comes close to that!

I've been ordering from Animal Plastics for years and can't say enough good things. All my cages and racks have worked great for me. Their customer service is second to none. You can't go wrong.

I haven't personally bought an AP rack but I hear great things about them. I chose to go with Reptile Basics and am SUPER pleased. Seems to be a great rack, well built and I placed my order on a Wednesday and it was on my doorstep the following Monday. With all the searching I did I also thought it was well priced with plenty of options for the rack as well as accessories such as thermostats. Just my .02 cents

Agreed...AP racks are great! You will never have a problem with a ball python escaping...but if you breed smaller boas or colubrids watch out! I moved my neonate Kenyans into my shoebox AP rack, and with in a few hours 4 escaped...one is still missing a few months later! I figured out that the Kenyans on the ends were sneaking out where the heat cable goes up the side! Now I keep all little snakes in the center only! I haven't had an escapee since!
