python paralysis

lifelike Feb 05, 2008 03:43 PM

i hope you guys can give me a bit of advice until i can get my snake into the vet. i went to check on her this afternoon and i noticed that she was in a funny position and when i picked her up part of her body about midway down is squishy and paralyzed. the areas below and above the squishy bit seem to be fine but the paralized part prevents her from moving around in her cage. the day before yesterday she didn't eat her rat but has been eating very well up until then. her cage is within the normal temperature range, and i keep her on newspaper.
i am really worried about her but the only reptile vet in the area is booked until thursday morning.
