Question for Randy R

Kimmys_balls Feb 06, 2008 07:32 PM

Randy, you out there? Not out there out there, on the forum? Nobody answered my question I posted on Sunday and you seem to like brain picks...
If I pair a genetic reduced pattern female with a 100% het for clown male would the outcome be all normals that are possible DH for genetic reduced pattern and clown??? Thanks for your time.
Anyone else feel free to chime in on this one. I need all the help I can get in attempting to understand these ball genetics!

Sorry, I'm not familiar with the genetic reduced pattern. Does it appear to be caused by a single gene mutation and is it what is the mutation type (recessive, co-dominant, dominant)?

On the clown side the babies would be 50% het clown. If the reduced pattern is recessive that would imply that the visual reduced pattern parent is homozygous so all the babies would be het reduced pattern. But reduced pattern may well be more complicated than recessive.
