Why are my collareds still the same size

lilmiles10 Feb 06, 2008 08:43 PM

i have had my collared lizards for a while now and they are not growing as fast as i thought they would be growing. Is there something I'm doing wrong. I feed them crickets everyday and meal worms about every other day. Sometimes they don't eat the crickets and wait for me to give them the meal worms. Sometimes they eat them all.

well first off how long are they right now? second collareds are alot like children they have growth spurts. were they wc or cb?
they will grow more during their normal growing season . are they shedding cause if they are shedding they are growing and growing out of their skin. as summer comes into focus they will probably start to grow more.

They are about 5 1/2 inches long with the tail. They are CB. How often are they suppose to shed, because they haven't in about 2 months.

if they are eating dont worry. last year 2 of mine didnt go through brumation and they didnt shed for about 3 1/2 months. when spring came around they ate more and shed again they both shed about 6 times over the spring and summer. remember whether
they are captive bred or wild caught there natural life cycles will still show through and have growth spurts. also remember that they should still be sleeping right now and their body knows that. but like i said if they are still eating dont worry especially if they are not losing weight. hope this helps.
ttyl.
