Cleo Update

medyssa Feb 07, 2008 12:39 AM

Well, I have been pretty busy between the following:
-packing for my move
-classes starting this week
-our other admin at work has mono (HEHE thats funny!)and I am trying to keep up with double the work
-my laptop AC adaptor dying and finagling with dell to get a new one (FREE!)
-my new chameleon coming in the mail yesterday
-cleo being ill

But I have been continuing my bath treatments with cleo and had some results on Monday, she passed something that I have no clue what it might be. I will post pictures tomorrow hopefully but it resembled a red lump of some organic material. I really have no clue beyond that. I even tried "discecting" it with a thin box cutter and I couldnt tell what it might be from that either, but she still has lumps towards her tail.
I think they might be areas of intestine that have swelled from aggravating the area by whatever it is she is passing. I dont know if it is eggs anymore. I tried feeding her a f/t small (only a few weeks old rat) yesterday and she ignored it. I am going to try a small live rat this weekend, as my new rats had babies and they are nice and fat, although terribly cute. I ALMOST feel bad for the rats but then I have to say I love my snake more.
I am planning on taking her into the vet, but of course I will not have the money now until next week. I am scared of what the DR. will say. I really dont know what he might be able to do.
Again, any suggestions or thoughts of what this might be would be helpful and very appreciated.
I really am thankful that we have such a great forum here. I dont know what I would do without you guys.

Yikes, I really hope everything turns out ok for her. I really have no idea what the red lump would be?

Hey Jess,

Glad she managed to pass something. I'd check with the vet before feeding, if it is intestinal blockage, adding more behind it could be detrimental.

Did you save the mass? Might help the vet??

I'm really thinking a vet visit is in order.

On a side note, you said you were moving closer to me? Where abouts?

I didnt save the lump that she passed, and in retrospect I wish I had. I will wait on feeding her, she just looks absolutely terrible, but she knows when I open the cage door, and will not wake up immediately but once I touch her she is alert. I am hoping she will pass more of the stuff before I take her to the vet and I will just save it. Ah, the nasty things you can find in my freezer.
I am moving close to Snell Rd. About a block from the high schoo. I dont really know that area all that well, except for your house and my stepdads apartment which is around the corner from you. The street name is Tuscarora. We'll be out of Fremont on the 23rd.
