DAILY RECORD (Glasgow, UK) 06 February 08 I'm Scared Of Boyfriend's Pet Snake (Joan Burnie)
Q My new boyfriend has a pet snake. He keeps it in a tank in his bedroom but I am still very frightened of it.
He also wants me to touch it and says it is harmless. I really like him but the snake is affecting our sex life as I can't relax with it in the room.
But his mum won't let him put it anywhere else in the house.
A I don�t know what kind of snake it is but I doubt it's venomous.
I have never understood the attraction of reptiles as pets but I think you can maybe accept it on two conditions - you never have to touch the thing and he agrees to cover the tank when you are staying over.
