Blue-tailed monitor?

sc0307 Feb 07, 2008 10:10 PM

I have a friend who just had a baby and needs to get rid of her blue-tailed monitor. I offered to at least watch it until she can find it a suitable home for it because as it is now, it's not getting the care it needs. I've been researching monitors for a few days now to get some information before i bring it into my house, but there really isn't a lot of information on them. I understand the temperatures, the humidty, the substrate, soaking dish, and feeding...maybe there is quite a bit of information it's just not as readily available as some other reptiles. How big does this particular type of monitor get, and what is their temperament like? I have beardies and then snakes, so I'm definitely more used to docile lizards and i understand this guy might not be like that...whatever information anyone can provide, it would be greatly appreciated.

I have a blue tailed and let me tell you they arent the friendliest things but they are quite awesome. And they a good amount of work too. They pretty much follow the guidelines of the peachthroat montiors which shouldn't be too hard to find information on. Hope this helps.
