I took a look back at the herp laws, and it seems like some parts aren't there anymore. Particularly the ban on Anacondas. Did it change? Or am I just missing it? Also, what are the laws concerning rear-fanged snakes such as vine snakes, mangrove snakes, etc.? Thanks!

anacondas aren't illegal to sell/buy in NJ yet. This may change in the new year or in coming years. Get them while you can!! They are great snakes!!!

Rear fanged snakes are another issue totally...not sure about that one! Best bet is to call NJ FW directly.

Thanks. I KNOW that it was listed on those laws. Maybe they just put it there by accident. I work at a pet shop, and would LOVE to carry some yellow anacondas. They're so gorgeous! I'll call about rear-fanged. If I actually get around to calling them, I'll post it on here too. I'd love to carry some Natrix or Mangrove snakes or something like that. Now, this is probably REALLY stupid, but rear-fanged snakes like hognoses and ringnecks are definitely legal, correct?

In addition to the anacondas, I do have hognose on my permit. Ringnecks shouldn't be a problem either.

Figured as much. I'm going to check out the laws one more time and make sure I didn't miss it, and maybe at least write them and find out about the rear-fanged, and maybe ask about the anacondas again. I don't want to get anything in the store that may not be allowed. I don't think that'd work out too well :-P.
