What's wrong with my dragon?

netoibarra Feb 08, 2008 09:44 PM

I have had my dragon for about 5 months now, and he has always been very active and alert. Last week he started becoming less active. The last two days he hasn't moved very much. I pick him up and he moves a little, but he won't open his eyes. I need help please!!!!

What UVB light are you using? Brand and type...compact or linear?

Has anything including the light changed lately?

You need to give way more information. How long is he and how much does he weigh? What are the temps. in his setup and what are you measuring them with? What are you feeding him?

netoibarra Feb 10, 2008 02:48 PM

Last time I weighed him when he was acting normal, he was 21 grams, today he was 17 grams. He has a Pro-UV 6.0 light, Its on from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. He has a Nite-Brite red bulb on 24 hours. His basking spot is 95 degrees. His main diet is/ was medium crickets, pheonix worms a couple times a week. Thanks again.

Hi
i see 2 things that r not good.
first youre baskingspot temp

that should be 110-115
and that 24 houre light you should take away.
beardie need rest and with that light on he wil not rest.
same as you leave light on while youre sleeping.

I sincerely thank everyone on here who has offered their advice, especially BDlvr who even gave me his/her home phone number... Thank you. The guys at Prehistoric Pets are going to take a look at him tomorrow, they have a lady that specializes in lizards. Oh and my dragons name is Gravedigger. My three year old monster truck fan nephew named him. Oh and he ate three medium pheonix worms today, he's still pretty lethargic though. Thanks again.
