Well, almost 10 years of owning snakes and it happened.
My corn snake (who is quite the horse for under a year) escaped.
I put my snakes in separate containers for the feeding. Well, she got out. I can't find her. I put a heating pad in the room and left it on. Stupid me. I could kick myself. She was a sweetheart and a vacuum cleaner of pinkies. I've had her for 6 months and she's double in size. I can't find her. Shameful to report, but snakes are wild, regardless if they were born at a breeder. Sneaky devils and strong devils. What I don't get was, there was a pinky in there, she doesn't mess around and let those sit for long. Oh well, maybe she thinks there is a male somewhere in the wall.
She may turn up. Any tricks?

First look under furniture and stuff...but second and most important...dont loose hope and don't panic. And if you have dogs...or cats, watch them. My minpin was barking like MAD in the laundry room and there was my baby kingsnake...missing for 2 months...just fine. So don't give up!

Try the Soderburg technique

Put loose "balls" of tape around the baseboards. MAybe 2 per wall. Check several times a dy, especially in the mornings.

Use masking or other fairly non-sticky tape.

Use mineral oil to remove the tape from the snake.

That's a really cool idea! There's also the flour method. Sprinkling flour on the floor in areas you think the snake might be. That way you can at least see if the snake is still there and where it might be hiding out.

The other day I found her. I was sitting here at the computer and looked over and she was on the tv. She was warm when I picked her up. She just ate today. Lesson no. 12495865.a never feed your snakes in another container that doesn't audibly click when the lid snaps into place.
